Tax Manager
A well-established and growing public accounting firm, seeks an experienced Tax Manager. You’ll work alongside a seasoned team of CPAs and accountants in a collaborative environment. You will take a lead role on tax engagements, mentor staff, and build/maintain relationships with clients.
You will work as a Tax Manager and be responsible for:
- preparing and reviewing Individual (Form 1040), Partnership (Form 1065), Corporate (Form 1120 and 1120S), and Trust (Form 1041) Income Tax Returns.
- You will also ensure timely filing of all client-related tax returns, advise clients, research complex tax matters, implement tax planning opportunities
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and Review Individual (Form 1040), Partnership (Form 1065), Corporate (Form 1120 and 1120S) and Trust (Form 1041) Income Tax Returns
- Ensure timely filing of all client-related tax returns
- Advise clients that include small businesses, individuals, trusts/estates
- Research and draft memorandum involving complex tax matters
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities for clients
- Work with staff to develop tax competencies and align on best practices
- Present on technical topic(s) for staff training
- Respond to federal and state tax notices received by client
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Must be a CPA
- 5+ years tax experience
- Experience with individual, partnership, corporate and trust tax returns
- Master of Science in Taxation is a plus
- Strong technical skills pertaining to tax preparation and review, tax compliance, agency correspondence and tax research
- Familiarity with UltraTax CS is a plus
- Must be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment
